Although pulled from service in a factory setting, these lights appear to have been stored in a vault wrapped in cotton, they are that nice, practically flawless condition. If you're the buyer that desires near-perfection in your old industrial lighting, these are the evasive specimens you've been relentlessly seeking!
The mogul base sockets have been replaced with brand new UL Listed standard medium base household sockets. I included a 1 1/4" machined socket extension. The
benefits
of this are two-fold. It allows use of
today's
shorter bulbs, which will no longer be confined up inside the neck of the shade. With the bulb coming down further into the shade, light is
dispersed
as intended by the manufacturer.   The machined socket extension also allows for installation of a good solid ground, something lacking in most older industrial lighting. My commercial customers love this...

The diameter is a generous 18 1/2 inches with the glass in place. From the bottom of the glass to the point the pipe enters is 13 1/2 inches. Total distance from the bottom to the ceiling, with the 11 inch down-rod installed, is about 25inches. I can exchange the 11 inch down-rod to 3 or 6 inch free of  charge.

The glass originally had an asbestos gasket between the glass and glass-frame. That has been removed and replaced with a new, high-temperature,

Asbestos
gasket
. The gasket keeps bugs and dirt from entering and also protects the glass. It also eliminates any sharp edges as the gasket is adhered to the glass.
Dust-Tight lights were designed to prevent the combustion of small particles of air-borne dust in industrial settings. Dust clouds from handling and processing many organic and inorganic substances explode with great violence when ignited. Such explosions are destructive and usually result in disastrous fires. Grain, flour, sugar and starch are examples in the food industry while coal, wood and sulfur are examples of explosive particles in the manufacturing sector.
While these lights were manufactured to be dust proof or otherwise to be used in hazardous locations, they should no longer be considered as such. Changes in both the old fixture and current lighting standards will likely make these lights fall short of performing safely in hazardous locations. Their new intended purpose is to light an area in a non-hazardous location while looking awesome.......and they will do that very, very well
The lights will be partially disassembled for safe packing and transport. They are easily reassembled.
