Cabinet card, c. 1885. Imprint of F. Jay Haynes & Bro., St. Paul, Minnesota. Printed titled, verso, "1496. Chief Little Head." From Haynes' "Colored Cabinets" series.
Little Head, a Crow chief, wears a richly beaded, embroidered, and fringed shirt, and numerous necklaces. His hair is adorned with beads, feathers, and fur decoration.
Nearly invisible damp stain in bottom margin of mount, otherwise a flawless example, richly toned with beautiful tinting.
One of the most aesthetically appealing 19th century Indian photos I've handled!
