1906 Griesedieck Western Brewery Company Stock Certificate
The Griesedieck family can trace their brewing roots to 1711 in Westphalia, which would later become Germany. In 1870, the several brothers relocated to St. Louis, including Franz Griesedieck, who opened several breweries in the St. Louis area. His son Henry L. Griesedieck opened this company in Belleville, Illinois around 1900. The certificate has the engraved signature of Henry L. Griesedieck and his son, Henry L. Jr. The family eventually owned multiple breweries in St. Louis and Belleville, Illinois. In 1957, Griesedieck sold to Falstaff. Rare and scarce specimen stock, in clean, pristine condition. Based on Henry L. signature as President, the certificate dates to pre-1907 when Henry L. Jr. became president. .
