    Description

Effective June 24, 1941, Windsor, Ontario, located across the Detroit River from Detroit, was made a regular stop between Detroit and Buffalo on American Airlines' Air Mail Route 7.
The Post Office did not provide a cachet for inaugural mail dispatched from Detroit.
    This cover was carried
on the inagural Air Mail Route 7 flight from the Detroit, Michigan Airport Mail Facility to Windsor, Ontario, Canada
(where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contact Mail Mail Flights (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as R27W43.
Ralph Moffett, a noted air mail historian, prepared the cover.
