    Description

    Pursuant to the United States - Canada Bilateral Agreement of May 8, 1974, Air Mail Route 56 was extended to Montreal on January 11, 1977. No official cachet was used at Montreal, although American Airlines applied an unofficial cachet to covers sent through their Montreal office for dispatch on the inaugural flight to Chicago.
