    Description

A new segment extending from Denver to San Diego was made part of this route in the “Additional Service to San Diego Case.” Although the Denver - San Diego extension was the only actual new service involved, the United States Postal Service also recognized Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wichita, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri with official cachets for the inaugural flight to San Diego from each city.
Covers dispatched by the Kansas City Airport Mail Facility received cachets applied in green. These covers received the same postmark as used at the Kansas City Post Office.
This cover was carried on the September 13, 1976 inaugural Air Mail Route 29 flight from
    Kansas City, Missouri to
    San Diego, California
    (where it was backstamped
) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 12W92a.
The Kansas City Postmaster autographed the cover.
