    Description

    COVER COMMEMORATING THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY FLIGHT OF DARIUS AND GIRENAS
    Up for auction is a cover issued in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the First Transatlantic Flight from the US to Lithuania by the two Lithuanian aviators Stephen (Steponas) Darius and Stanley (Stasys) Girenas in 1933. The cover was issued in 1993 by the Chicago Philatelic Society "Lithuania". It bears a 37-cent US stamp, and is postmarked in Chicago, Illinois on 29 October, 2004. The recipient's and sender's names have been concealed in the above photographs to hide their identities.
