    Inherited from the estate of a family friend, this listing is for a Farmer's Bulletin 839, Home Canning by the One-Period Cold Packed Method, issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This booklet includes age old methods for canning, brines, and seasoning, with or without sugar, to safely store produce to avoid spoilage. This is a wonderful piece of food preservation history.
    This booklet is in good condition. These is one small tear on the cover. The middle page has released from the bottom staple but it is still attached by the top, handle this page with care. The flaw is documented in my last photo. The entire booklet appears to have been placed in a binder at one time. There are two holes punched through all pages. This doesn't not hinder the text or illustrations. Please review and study all of the photos. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me before bidding. I have done my best to photograph every detail. I am happy to message you with any additional information or photos upon request.
