OLD or ANTIQUE B & G #2180 KN DENMARK "GIRL with HER GOAT"~
This wonderful Bing & Grondahl figurine #2180, circa 1948-1951, is called "Girl With Her Goat". The figure portrays a young bare foot girl, kneeling down beside her pet goat. She is dressed in a blue dress and long white apron, her light brown hair is braided into two braids reaching down her back almost to her waist, while on her head she wears a blue plaid kerchief. The white and medium brown goat stands close to her waiting for the leaves she is holding in her right hand. The
sculpture was designed by Alex Locher and his name is impressed on the reverse side of the base.
The figurine measures 7 3/4" in height and the base is 3 1/2" square. Stamped in green with the 'Three Royal Towers of Copenhagen - B&G - Copenhagen Porcelain - Made In Denmark", circa 1948-1951; also in blue "B & G" and in green the model number "2180" and artists initial 'KN'.
There are no cracks or chips
but
, there is a repair to the Goat's tail which was done professionally.
