Description
In the 1977-78 Transatlantic Route Proceeding Pan American acquired Houston – previously a gatewayto Mexico and Latin America over Foreign Air Mail Route 5 – as a co-terminal on its transatlantic route. In mid-1978 the
airline took the first step to make this city a major international transportation hub by extending its
round-the-world flights from the previous New York terminus.

carried on the July 2, 1978
