    1 Pound Trial Piece issued by the Great Britain Royal Mint in 2015.
    The Trial Piece is 23mm in diameter and is 12-sided.
    NOTE:
    Glare from the Proof-like surfaces of the coin makes some areas appear black or stained in the photos.  Rest assured that there are no black marks or stains on the coin.
    This Trial Piece was issued by The Royal Mint on a trial basis to determine how well coin vending machines would accept a new proposed Bi-Metallic 12-Sided coin.
    Apparently, all went well, since the new legal currency 1 Pound coin was officially issued by the Great Britain Royal Mint in 2016.
