Vtg MCM Space Age UFO Atomic Hanging Ceiling Light/Lamp Fixture, 1950s-60s, HUGE.
Very large 21" inches diameter mid century hanging retractable ceiling light.  The light is approximately 32" inches in length when retracted up and pulls down to approximately 50" inches total length.
The condition is vintage circa 1950s/60s original. The gigantic textured glass dome has retro reverse painted enameling design and the 3 dimensional acrylic/lucite under shade-light diffuser are both in good condition. The cord is original and is in good working order.  The metal plated componets are aged and have ware and patina ( pictured).  The light holds 3 bulbs and there is a rotary switch stem in the center of the finial that turns and gives you a 1-2-3 light operation for setting mood lighting. We have dimmer switches nowadays so its a feature that wont most likely get used but is there if the amount of light needs reduced manually.
These atomic mid century lights are fabulous,  todays lighting cant even compare in design, style and overall presence.  The light is very old, any restorations or updating would be up to the new owners diacretion but it looks great and works great just as it is.
